Get to know Dr. Mallory Thompson, a San Antonio OBGYN

Dr. Mallory Thompson cares about the whole woman. She is interested in both their mental and physical health. Through compassionate care and conversation, Mallory Thompson MD helps patients feel comfortable enough to ask questions about everything from menstruation and PCOS, to pregnancy and birth issues.

She also helps her patients understand postpartum mental health. Dr. Thompson explains that many women feel isolated and think they are the only mothers who feel a certain way. Dr. Mallory Thompson received her education from esteemed institutions

Dr. Thompson received her Bachelor of Arts in biology, graduating magna cum laude with a minor in Chinese. She received her MD from The Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso.

For her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Thompson moved to Dallas. There, she trained at Baylor University Medical Center. She also has da Vinci Robotic certification.

Mallory Thompson MD was recognized for academics and patient care

An academic standout, Mallory Thompson MD received a full-tuition, merit-based scholarship for her medical education. In addition, she received the Outstanding Senior Student award in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Outstanding Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology award.

When asked which award makes her most proud, she points to her Service Excellence Award from the Baylor University Medical Center. Nurses nominated her for this award, an honor that doesn’t normally go to residents, because she went above and beyond for her patients.

Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Mallory Thompson enjoys spending time with her family, including her daughter, her emergency medicine physician husband and their dog. In her free time, she likes to bake, cook and participate in outdoor activities.
